2317 - 30th Field Artillery Regiment RCACC
The Royal Canadian Army Cadets are recognized as Canada's oldest youth program open to ages 12 to 18 years. The 2317-30th Field Regiment is the one of the oldest cadet corps in Ottawa.
The aim of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets is "to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness; and stimulate the interest of youth in the sea, land, and air activities of the Canadian Forces." The Royal Canadian Army Cadets shares this aim with the Sea and Air Cadets; however, each focuses on its own parent element.
The Royal Canadian Army Cadets is a free program that runs during the school year. We teach numerous skills not taught in regular classrooms such as map and compass, survival techniques, and leadership training. Although distinctly operating in a military setting, what is taught easily translates to everyday life and our cadet corps is lucky to have access to a wonderful outdoor and indoor training space as well as excellent instructors all located at 307 De Niverville Private in Ottawa.
Everything from the uniforms and regular training to the field trips, specialized training (marksmanship and biathlon teams) and summer camps are completely free of charge. This is important because it allows all youth access to special opportunities and knowledge regardless of their family budget.
Come join us for fun and friendship while learning about yourself, your community and your country.
We train on Monday nights from 1830-2100 hours along with special events hosted throughout the year.
